"The Cathedral series was born when our mare unexpectedly produced a filly foal. I wanted to make images that would invite the viewer beyond the glass of the frame to interact and see suggested and implied elements. Indicated, not stated, the shades and subtleties of learning as we find our place in our environment. Each image has its own emotional conversation with me, the artist, about my feeling and reactions to the news and new life, and sparked an experimental use of ground and watercolour paint. More importantly I want the paintings to intrigue and engage with the viewer based on their own unique experience and vision"
